MICROSOFT IMMERSIVE READER

Immersive Reader enables students with learning differences such as Dyslexia using text decoding solutions and help build confidence for emerging readers through features like Line Focus and Picture Dictionary.

IMMERSIVE READER ON EDGE BROWSER

Immersive Reader is embedded in the Microsoft Edge Browser. Students can use the accessibility features of Immersive Reader on web pages, creating a personalized reading experience.

MICROSOFT LENS

Microsoft Lens (formerly Microsoft Office Lens) trims, enhances, and makes pictures of whiteboards and documents readable. You can use Microsoft Lens to convert images to PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, digitize printed or handwritten text, and save to OneNote, OneDrive, or your local device. You can even import images that are already on your device using Gallery.

REWORDIFY

Rewordify.com is powerful, free, online software that improves reading, learning, and teaching. This site can: Intelligently simplify difficult English, for faster comprehension. Effectively teach words, for building a better vocabulary. Help teachers save time and produce engaging lessons.

SMMRY

Summarize articles, text, websites, essays and documents for free with SMMRY. You can paste information direclty into the text box, summarize a webpage by using a URL, or upload a file. This tool is great for students who need less visual information on a page, or who struggle with reading comprehension.

SIMPLE ENGLISH WIKIPEDIA

The Simple English Wipedia page uses simple English words and grammar. The Simple English Wikipedia is for everyone, such as children and adults who are learning English. There are 234,523 articles on the Simple English Wikipedia.

Tar Heel Reader is a collection of free, easy-to-read, and accessible books on a wide range of topics. Each book can be speech enabled and accessed using multiple interfaces, including touch screens, the IntelliKeys with custom overlays, and 1 to 3 switches.

EPIC DIGITAL LIBRARY

Epic is a digital library filled with high-interest, grade appropriate ebooks that are supported by accessibility features! It is free for teachers! Epic School is free for educatiors and students with class code log in access from 7 am to 3 pm when school is physically in session.

READ ALOUD EXTENSION FOR CHROME

Read Aloud uses text-to-speech (TTS) technology to convert webpage text to audio. It works on a variety of websites, including news sites, blogs, fan fiction, publications, textbooks, school and class websites, and online university course materials.

HELPERBIRD EXTENSION

This user-friendly extension makes digital reading accessible. The free Helperbird plan includes text-to-speech, specialized fonts for dyslexia, color blindness features, and Microsoft Immersive Reader.

LIBBY APP

Borrow eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and more from your local library for free. Libby is the newer library reading app by OverDrive, loved by millions of readers worldwide.
